Reimagining Credit Acquisition in the Flight Booking Experience

Overview

I played a pivotal role in the launch of the Delta Gold Hybrid Application, which was integrated into the Flight Purchase user journey across various platforms, including desktop, mobile, and Delta's proprietary native app. The development of this hybrid application marked a significant transformation in the way cobranded applications were approached, blending essential components of a traditional landing page directly into the application interface.

This innovative hybrid app/landing page not only effectively highlights the card's value proposition throughout the acquisition funnel but also strategically leverages the opportunity to prominently feature the No Credit Score Impact messaging. This messaging is particularly crucial as it is presented within the highest volume and traffic journey for Delta, which is undeniably the flight purchase path. This integration ensures that potential customers are not only informed but also encouraged to explore the benefits of the Delta Gold card in a seamless manner.

A/B/C Testing

To gain a comprehensive understanding of the direct impacts brought about by the hybrid application and landing page, as well as the effectiveness of the no credit impact marketing language, rigorous testing was conducted utilizing a control and 2 distinct variants. Each variant incorporated new creatives and tailored marketing language designed to resonate with prospective customers. The results of this test were promising, revealing that a new variant/approach significantly boosted engagement rates and conversion metrics.

Outcome

The hybrid application/landing page experience successfully launched early 2025 and is projected to bring millions in annual billed business. It was designed with a journey-agnostic framework, which allows for scalability beyond the immediate Delta product landscape and eases the implementation across various unique user experiences. This adaptability aligns with our commitment to ensuring innovative solutions can be leveraged in future projects, easily enhancing user engagement and conversion opportunities across different platforms, applications within both the domestic and international credit card ecosystem.
